PolyGrid doesn't get selectionChanged message with LCC 1.0 DP10

With LCC 1.0 DP10, I have to add the following code to each PolyGrid widget handler because otherwise the selectionChanged message is not getting sent. Works fine in LC 10.0.5.

on cellClick pColumnNumber,pRowNumber,pCellRect
if getLCIntegerVersion() > 10 then
– LCC 11 Issue - doesn’t send selectionChanged
send “selectionChanged” && pRowNumber to widget “LayoutConversionsPolyGrid” of card “LCWDev” of stack “LCWDevelopment”
end if
end cellClick

Hi, apologies for the issue you’re having.

Does this issue occur in DP13 which is our most recent version? It’s possible this is fixed in that version.

Meirion,

Sorry, I got the terminology wrong, it is LiveCode Create Classic. I see that it is now at version 11.0.0. I downloaded this latest release, and installed the 11.0.0 version of the widgets - but I get exactly the same problem. I missed noticing 11.0.1RC1 was available as it was lower on the downloads page. So I downloaded and tested 11.01RC1 - with exactly the same problem.

i’m having the same issue. the event does not fire if the user changes the selection. it does if i change it via script.

I’ve filled this issue with our team and will post any updates here

Has any progress been made on this?

Hi, the issue is with our team and we hope to have a fix for it in a future LiveCode update. I will post here if there’s any further news.

So…no news., correct?

FYI - The sample I provided provides most of the code to work-around this issue. I have shipped production apps with this fix and it is working. You just need to check the current engine version and branch accordingly within every PolyGrid.

Right. I arrived at the same place, while trying to figure out what the heck broke.

That’s the good news about building with LC: for every showstopping bug I have ever crashed into, I have been able to work around it. It is just so annoying that many times, those hacks are the things we have to do, because often, there is never a fix.
