Material field inputType "number" doesn't allow a decimal

When the inputType for a widget of kind “com.livecode.widget.materialfield” is set to “number”, the field does not allow entry of either a decimal (ruling out money among other things) or a dash (ruling out negative numbers). This seems like an oversight.
